My concentration is about representing music through visual art. Each work in my concentration represents a piece of music that I have played on either my flute or the piano. Each one of these pieces is something that I really enjoy playing. Also, each selection represents the different emotions and features of that music; one of my pieces is joyful, while another is bittersweet. As I progressed through my concentration, I experimented with different ideas. For a couple of my pieces, I integrated the physical soundwaves of the music. However, I found that this did not exactly add meaning to my pieces. As I moved through my concentration, I also added more texture. For example, I used cotton balls in one of my pieces; in another piece, I blew bubbles onto the paper to get the desired effect. I also wrote out the music onto several different pieces in order to communicate my idea.
